Information for our partners and other organisations

LCiL has strong partnerships with public, statutory and third sector organisations and we pride ourselves in being open to new ways of collaboration and co-production.

LCiL Volunteers are available to share their lived experience at conferences, events and training programmes or to become members of working groups or committees, mainly across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

We offer Disability Equality Training run by disabled people for employers, third sector organisations and anyone else who would like to learn more about the Social Model of Disability from people with lived experience.

LCiL’s Disability Advice and Information Service (formerly Grapevine) has information on a variety of topics related to navigating life as a disabled person including support with benefit claims.

Visit our resource hub to download our factsheets or find out about our outreach service.

LCiL’s SDS Advice and Information Service/Independent Living Service can help explore options around Self-Directed Support (SDS). This includes advice with support planning and social care reviews, meeting the responsibilities which come with being a Personal Assistant employer and more. Support is available for those funded by their local authority, the Independent Living Fund in Scotland or those privately funding support.

The service welcomes enquiries and referrals from other professionals. Find out more

LCiL’s Payroll Service works closely with the SDS Advice and Information Service/Independent Living Service to offer an inclusive service for PA Employers who employ their own Personal Assistants. In additional we offer an enhanced service for those who cannot hold their own bank account and we make payments on their behalf to PAs and/or other invoices.
