A one stop shop of online information for disabled people in Edinburgh and the Lothians has been launched!
This site was developed in partnership with disabled people to ensure it is relevant to their needs. The original www.lothiancil.org.uk was launched over 8 years ago and receives more than 5000 page requests every month. The new LCiL site brings not just a fresh new look to www.lothiancil.org.uk but a whole new range of opportunities.
As a one stop-shop of information, the website it provides everything you need to know about independent living and self-directed support. Aimed at disabled people, people with long-term conditions and older people living in Edinburgh and the Lothians, visitors can search the E-library for factsheets, check out the latest news and events, submit online enquiries to the specialist disability information service Grapevine, and register/book interest on LCiL’s extensive range of training opportunities, including Access to Work and Living and Work Choices.

Our new website seeks to empower people to take up their rights and choices through providing up to date, accurate and accessible information. With the introduction of self-directed support and impact of welfare reforms, increasing numbers of disabled people are getting in touch with us to receive independent information and advice. Our website is a first port of call for those who want support to live independently in their communities and find out about how to access self-directed support.
