Rate of pay £13.70 per hour.
One or two personal assistants required to support a young person with Downs syndrome and autism who lives in Musselburgh.
The job will be based initially in the family home, where you will spend time getting to know the young person and support her to enjoy the activities she likes. Activities in the home will include arts and crafts, jigsaws, board games and watching films. Eventually you will support the young person to go out swimming, shopping or to the cinema. There will also be personal care support which is why this post is female only.
It is essential that the postholder have a full driving licence valid in the UK and be willing to use their own car during work, (expenses covered.)
It is also essential that you are dog friendly and not allergic to dogs.
Experience of working with people with autism is advantageous but not essential.
The post will consist of two four hour shifts per week, Monday – Friday. Employer willing to hire one person to do both shifts, or two people to do one each. Shifts finish no later than 4pm. Shifts to be negotiated but some flexibility required.
