About this event

Our peer group and information sessions empower and support people, encouraging connection and community through shared experiences, which help reduce isolation. They offer a safe space to share thoughts and experiences of Social Care and in particular Self-Directed Support (SDS).

The sessions are welcoming, relaxed and informal. Bringing people together to discuss the aspects of SDS that matter to them.

 

Who can attend? 

  • Disabled people
  • People with long-term conditions
  • Older people

Who live in Edinburgh and the Lothians and are:

  • Interested in learning more about social care
  • Are currently accessing or interested in accessing social care

 Why attend?

  • Meet other people who want to discuss and share knowledge around accessing social care
  • Explore ideas and opportunities around support
  • Find out practical information and resources
  • Develop skills and build confidence

 

How to Join this Event

The Online Disabled People’s Peer Support Group takes place on Zoom.

 

We can support you to learn how to join a Zoom call via a laptop, computer, smart phone, or landline phone.

 

Please email PSL@lothiancil.org.uk to RSVP and receive the Zoom link and Meeting ID.

 

Please join 5-10 minutes ahead of the start time to allow a smooth start to the session. Please note, to avoid any disruptions entry to the group will close at FIVE MINUTES AFTER TIME.
