Our peer group and information sessions empower and support people, encouraging connection and community through shared experiences, which help reduce isolation. They offer a safe space to share thoughts and experiences of Social Care and in particular Self-Directed Support (SDS).
The sessions are welcoming, relaxed and informal. Bringing people together to discuss the aspects of SDS that matter to them.
Who can attend?
- Disabled people
- People with long-term conditions
- Older people
Who live in East Lothian and are:
- Interested in learning more about social care
- Are currently accessing or interested in accessing social care
What you need to know:
This group will take place in the Star Room, at the John Gray Centre, 15 Lodge St, Haddington, EH41 3DX
Access into the John Gray Centre, Star Rooms and bathrooms is all step-free.
From 12 noon until 12.45pm, a buffet with a selection of sweet and savoury items are provided for lunch.
If you require personal care/support with moving while attending an in-person event, please bring along a PA/carer with you, as staff are not able to support you in this way.

How do I register for this event?
By emailing PSL@lothiancil.org.uk or calling 0131 475 2350, where one of the Peer Support and Learning Facilitators will complete the registration process with you. Please note we have a limited number of spaces available for this event.
We require registration by Thursday 11th July at 12 noon. After this date, any specific dietary requirements will not be able to be catered for.
