Published: September 5, 2014

The petition in the name of Jeff Adamson on abolition of non-residential social care charges for older and disabled people has been formally lodged with the Parliament published on the Parliament’s website at the following link –

The petition will now go on the next available agenda for consideration by the Committee and the Committee may decide to invite Jeff Adamson in (as the named petitioner) to speak to the petition – A provisional timescale for the Committee considering the petition – due to the Parliamentary recess in the lead up to the referendum, the Committee does not meet again until the end of this month – informally following that meeting it will look at all the new petitions before it and decide whether to invite any of the petitioners in to speak to their petitions and those petitions will then be scheduled for a future meeting. The Committee will be back into its usual fortnightly meeting schedule then but as the October recess falls in the middle of that schedule it’s likely to be at a meeting towards the end of October before the petition will be considered.
