I am looking for a small team of reliable and trustworthy 2-3 female Personal Assistants to support my mother at home. She lives with dementia, diabetes, and other health conditions, and needs help with personal care, meals, medication prompts, observation, and support with mobility, including wheelchair use.
As her dementia progresses, my mother is returning to her childhood language, Urdu. It is therefore essential that her PAs can speak Urdu, so she feels comfortable and understood. It is also essential that you are a non-smoker and have a car with a valid driving licence.
Main duties include:
- Preparing meals and prompting Mum to eat
- Prompting and observing Mum to check her blood sugar (training provided; no administration required)
- Supporting Mum to attend social activities when needed (including wheelchair use)
- Providing personal care
- Offering emotional and social support
Hours:
- Morning: 7:50am – 9:30am
- Afternoon: 11:50am – 1:30pm
- Evening: 4:50pm – 6:30pm
This routine applies Monday–Sunday.
On Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons, hours may be adjusted if Mum attends a social activity (up to 4 hours, with wheelchair support as needed).
Home visits will generally be for a minimum of 1 hour 40 minutes.
About you:
You are confident with medication prompting and observation, communicate clearly and have compassion.
If this sounds like you and you are interested in the position, I’d love to hear from you.
Note: Posts are subject to a PVG Scheme membership check, and if you are not a member, you will be asked to join before any formal offer could be made.
*Genuine Occupational Requirements
3 months of probationary period
