We are looking for energetic, reliable and caring individual(s) to support our 24‑year‑old daughter, who has Angelman Syndrome. She is developmentally delayed, non‑verbal (but understands everything and communicates very effectively with simple signs), full of fun, mischief, affection — and a determined streak.
About the Role
You will support her both out in the community and at home, helping her enjoy the activities she loves, such as:
- Swimming
- Dance and music classes
- Baking, jigsaws and other engaging home activities
The role also includes personal care, including assisting with showering and dressing.
Hours
We are looking for someone (or two people sharing the role) to cover:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 8:45am to 4:45pm Hours can be negotiated. Additional flexible weekend hours are also available.
Minimum weekly cover required: 24+ hours (can be split between carers).
Requirements
- Experience supporting someone with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential)
- PVG membership (or willingness to join)
- Full driving licence
- References required
