About me

I am a 43-year-old woman. I have Prader-Willi Syndrome. I have some mobility difficulties.

I live with my brother. I need support with day-to-day life so I can stay as independent as possible.

I enjoy using my iPad, listening to music on my Amazon Alexa, doing jigsaws, going bowling, going to bingo, and sometimes making loom bands.

About the job

The job is on Saturday and Sunday. The day shift is 8 am to 6 pm. There is also a sleeping overnight shift from 9 pm to 6 am.

  • Day shift pay: £13.65 per hour
  • Sleeping overnight pay: £13.07 per hour
  • Sleeping overnight shift: 9 pm to 6 am
  • You may need to help me during the night if I need to use the toilet.

 Personal care support

  • Washing: I can shower by myself. I need help washing my back, legs, and bottom. I also need help drying and putting cream on.
  • Dressing: I need help with dressing and undressing.
  • Toilet support: At home I use specialist toilet equipment. When I am out, I may need help to use public toilets.
  • Appearance: I need help with things like brushing my hair, choosing clothes, and reminders to brush my teeth.
  • Meals: I can make toast in the morning. At other times, I need help to prepare meals, cook, wash up, and tidy afterwards.
  • Mobility: I need help with steps and stairs. I use a walking frame for balance and I have a stair lift at home.
  • Medication: I manage my insulin and medication myself. The PA should understand my routine and help me organise my tablets into pill boxes for morning, lunch, and dinner.

Home support

  • Cooking: Preparing meals, washing up, and tidying after meals.
  • Cleaning: Helping keep the home clean by vacuuming, dusting, and tidying.
  • Laundry: I can use the washing machine and tumble dryer.
  • Shopping: Helping with shopping, either with me or for me.

 Other support

  • My interests: I enjoy playing games on my iPad, listening to music, doing jigsaws, and making loom bands.
  • Going out: I like going to charity shops at the weekend, going out for lunch, and having car trips.
  • Other tasks: You may be asked to help with other reasonable tasks.
