Future of the Independent Living Fund in Scotland

In June 2010 the UK Government closed the Independent Living Fund (ILF) to new applicants. Then, in December 2012, the UK Minister for Disabled People announced that the ILF would close permanently on 31 March 2015. The finance and responsibility for ILF will be devolved to the Scottish Government from 1 April 2015.

LCiL has now held it’s for facebookconsultation day to gather the views and opinions of disabled people on what their views, concerns and suggestions for the Independent Living Fund in Scotland (See photo). A summary and report of the consultation will be coming your way soon so we will keep you posted when it becomes available.

The Independent Living Fund Policy Team at the Scottish Government are collecting responses to this consultation – the deadline for responses is the 1 November 2013.
