DLA to PIP – what you need to know

Published: October 8, 2015

Grapevine have been made aware that the DWP have started writing to some lifetime or indefinite Disability Living Allowance (DLA) recipients requesting they make a claim for Personal Independence Payment, the replacement for DLA.  Those who are being sent the letters are being asked to call the PIP number to start a claim to avoid any problems which is 0800 917 2222.

If you or anyone you know is receiving DLA at present and has received one of these letters or has concerns, questions and requires information and advice on PIP – how to claim, what to do if you are asked to make a claim and any letters concerning the continuation of your DLA please contact Grapevine on 0131 475 2370 or email: grapevine@lothiancil.org.uk

We urge disabled people living in Edinburgh, Midlothian or East Lothian who are uncertain about what claiming PIP means for them to contact us for free, confidential and independent advice.  We specialise in PIP claims and can assist those living in these areas with claim forms subject to appointment availability at our offices in Norton Park in Edinburgh.  We will keep monitoring the situation and keep you posted of any developments as we hear about them.
