A New Future for Social Security- Consultation on Social Security in Scotland

Published: August 11, 2016

At the end of July the Scottish Government launched a new 13-week consultation on the future of social security to gather views and assist with the formation of the forthcoming Social Security bill.

The consultation will address the breadth of social security related issues, including benefits directly of interest to LCiL service users.

While LCiL will be submitting its own responses to the consultation, individuals can find out more about the consultation and how they themselves can get involved by visiting https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/social-security/social-security-in-scotland or, for an ‘easy read’ version, here http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2016/08/6429

If you would like to take part in any consultation events please contact Scottish Government by email at socialsecurityconsultation@gov.scot, or telephone on 0131 244 7763, or in writing at Social Security Consultation, 5th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay, 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU.

The consultation closes on Friday, 28th October 2016.
