We are looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic Personal Assistant (PA) to support a happy and loving seven-year-old boy who has autism and an intellectual disability.
He has a lovely personality and enjoys cars, planes, playing and being active. He enjoys spending time at home as well as getting out into the community and taking part in activities that interest him.
He communicates non-verbally and uses a combination of gestures, leading and an iPad/communication tools to express his needs, choices and interests. His parents will provide guidance and support to help the successful applicant understand his individual communication methods, routines and cues.
The role is about supporting him to enjoy activities, develop his independence and experience the community safely, while providing assistance with personal care and other aspects of his daily life.
PVG Requirement
Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or be willing to join the scheme.
Location: Gorebridge
Pay: £13.95 per hour
Hours: Minimum 13 hours per week, term time only
Additional hours may be available outwith term time
