I’m looking for a kind and reliable female personal assistant to provide companionship and light support to my wife, who has mobility difficulties following a stroke. She uses a tripod stick and a wheelchair.
The role involves attending regular group sessions, supporting with occasional appointments, and providing company on Saturdays when I’m away visiting friends.
This is a casual hours position, primarily to cover when our regular personal assistant is on holiday or unwell, so flexibility is important.
Immediate cover needed:
We are currently looking for someone available between July 4th and July 22nd.
Typical Shifts:
Thursday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
You’ll provide support while she attends group or one-to-one activities.
Saturday: Approximately 4–5 hours
You’ll offer companionship at home while I am out.
Other duties may include:
- Occasional appointment support
- Light assistance as needed during outings
Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR):
Due to the personal and intimate nature of some aspects of the support required, it is a genuine occupational requirement that the personal assistant is female.
How to apply
Please email your interest in the role to pajobs@lothiancil.org.uk, including the job reference and contact details, and I’ll get back to you soon.
