Friendly Personal Assistant Needed to Support a 16-Year-Old with Down Syndrome and Autism
About Me
I’m a 16-year-old who is passionate about K-Pop, art, music, and dancing and I have a great sense of humour!
About the Role
This role is to support me in developing my independence through a variety of social and practical activities. You’ll spend time getting to know me, with guidance and support from my family.
Because I sometimes find it hard to communicate my needs, excellent listening and communication skills are essential.
The role
Social Support
- Going out into the community (e.g. cinema trips, walks, social outings)
- Encouraging interaction with others and building confidence
- Support to enjoy art projects, music, dancing, and other creative activities
- Joining in with leisure activities such as board games, baking, and play
Personal care
- Assistance with dressing and undressing when needed
Independent Living Skills
- Supporting safe travel and encouraging independence in daily routines
About You
I’m looking for a Personal Assistant who is:
- Friendly, approachable, and has a good sense of humour
- Reliable, patient, and easy-going
- A good communicator and listening skills are essential
- Enthusiastic about helping young people grow and express themselves creatively
- Able to drive
The rate of pay is £12.60
The post is for 3 hours per week.
It is essential that the postholder is a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or is willing to join.
