About the role:

I’m an outgoing disabled woman who is tetraplegic and needs help with most day-to-day activities and is full-time wheelchair user. You will be joining a lovely team of 5 PA’s who provide me with care 24 hours a day. I like socialising with family and friends, going for coffee and meals and to the theatre etc.

Hours and rate of pay

£14.82 per hour & £110.88 per sleepover (sleeping night)

Statutory paid holiday and pension contributions

16 hours and 1 overnight (flexible hours) per week

Key responsibilities.

  • Assist with daily tasks such as personal care, cleaning, shopping, cooking, gardening.
  • Using hoist (training given)
  • Helping me go out in my wheelchair, on bus or driving my automatic car
  • I like being involved with my family and friends and enjoy socialising with children & my grandchildren.
  • Help with day-to-day life admin.

The Ideal candidate

  • Previous experience in care work is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • I’m looking for someone with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • someone who values confidentiality and reliability
  • You do not need to be strong to undertake this role, but you do need a general level of fitness for pushing my wheelchair etc.
  • Driving licence preferred but not essential.

As of April 1st, 2025, it is mandatory for those working as a personal assistant to be a member of the PVG scheme. Therefore, to be considered for this role you must be a member for the PVG scheme or willing to join.
