Active 40-year-old woman with learning disability, autism and well controlled epilepsy keen to expand an existing team, funded by direct payment.

 

Own tenancy in Musselburgh.

 

Full licence and car is essential, mileage is paid at 50p per mile.

 

Rate of pay £14.50 per hour.

 

Looking for 2 females (*GOR) with experience of autism to fill 1 weekday each.

Shift would be the same each week, either a Monday or Tuesday 9am to 4.30pm, start time could possibly be negotiated

In addition, opportunity for holiday cover, and occasional shift in summer months on a Saturday afternoon to support and engage with a disabled cycling group that do a short run locally.

 

Main duties would be to source and support with activities in the community, help maintain and encourage social contacts and assist with general housekeeping within the home.

Interests include meeting friends, theatre, healthy food, knitting and sports. Keen to attend gym again.

 

Would suit an active, patient person with a good understanding of the challenges autism can present.

 

Contracted employment with annual leave, pension contribution.

1 month probationary period.

 

Post offered on completion of paid trial shifts.

 

It is essential that the postholder be a member of the PVG scheme or willing to join.
