Working pattern: 48 hours (weekends) every 6-8 weeks. Scope to increase days in the future.
Rate of pay: £16.50 Per hour
Care support worker/Personal Assistant (PA) required to support respite provision for a young 51 year-old man with a Learning Disability, speech and mobility difficulties. This is on a 48-hour weekend shift basis every 6-8 weeks and is a permanent post. The working pattern can offer a good work-life balance. Respite will be provided at varying locations across Edinburgh and the Lothians away from his home environment. The PA will enable activities such as light meal preparation, baking, enjoying meals out, coffee shop visits, theatre trips, driving range, ten-pin bowling, and visits to locations of interest.
The Post:
48 hours every 6-8 weeks but beginning with a few hours during the day on a weekend until rapport is established. It may be possible to increase the numbers of days respite in the future.
Experience of working with people who have a learning disability is desirable but general experience in the care sector is essential. The applicant should be patient, kind, compassionate and keen to have fun.
PVG membership (or be willing to join)
Driving License essential.
