I am a woman who lives in her own home in Stockbridge, supported by a team of Personal Assistants. Due to reduced mobility and chronic pain I require help with every aspect of my life. I have PAs that help with me domestic tasks, personal care and daily living tasks. I also require support with food shopping and meal preparation.
I require support due to my strict dietary requirements and require assistance with shopping for organic foodstuffs and cooking meals in batches that can be eaten on the day and stored in the freezer.
Assistance is also required in using a home computer to write memory-aid lists, internet home shopping and other tasks. I use my MacBook and iPad as tools to store and access information, so someone who is IT-literate, specifically with Apple products, software and apps, is a must. Record-keeping is vital to ensure my whole team is kept up to date and, due to some cognitive impairment, my own piece of mind.
Applicants should have specific experience in catering to dietary requirements. This post may be of particular interest to students studying catering, dietetics, nutritional and health studies.
Applicants must have the ability to cook using fresh seasonal ingredients and have a strong understanding of healthy cooking. They should be willing to help and muck-in with various tasks and be very reliable.
Due to multiple allergies and chemical sensitivities non-smokers only and the successful applicant must be aware that they will not be able to wear fragrances. Please note: the applicants should be aware of and can read more about this in the job description.
This successful applicant will also be asked to assist with applying non-narcotic medicated plasters as well as providing holiday cover which may include further personal care, therefore, it is only open to female candidates.
The post would be best suited for someone living or working in the Stockbridge area or who has a good knowledge of the area.
The post is for 9 hours per week. Rate of pay: £11.24 per hour.
Core working hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00am until 12:00pm; though there may be some flexibility around scheduling for my team of carers.
Closing date: As soon as possible
Trial shifts would be available and training by the employer and other employees would be provided. There is also some scope for additional hours initially to help the successful candidate and the employer get to know one another and ‘learn the ropes’!
