We are looking for someone to join our excellent team providing support to a 7-year-old with learning disabilities and provide very occasional support for his 4 year old younger brother (who does not have a learning disability).
This is an excellent opportunity to work on an interdisciplinary Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention Team (including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and physiotherapy). The main part of the post is to support a young 7-year-old boy to pursue his hobbies/interests and provide support with learning and communication through play therapy. Direction will be given by parents and full training will be provided on the job.
Applicant will support child using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) techniques, sign along, communication devices (proloquo2go), and intensive interaction. We are undertaking the Hanen approach more than just words approach and are working on techniques to start using regularly at home. Opportunities will also be provided to develop skills in using a range of different tools and techniques.
- Duties will include supporting the individual to undertake a variety of social, learning, toileting and physio activities. You may very occasional be asked to carry out light domestic duties, such as tidying toys and tidying 7 year old’s bedroom.
- Experience of working with children with learning difficulties would be beneficial – however not essential as training will be provided. Although you will be working with various professionals, you will report directly to parents and have weekly updates on progress.
- The post holder will also be expected to support with personal care.
This post is suited to someone that is reliable, kind, uses initiative and is trustworthy and willing to learn on the job. We looking for someone who is flexible – but at the same time we work with you around your schedule.

Hours will typically be after school except a Tuesday, which is a home school day.
Tuesday – 12 .00– 6.00pm
Wednesday – 3.30pm – 6.30pm
Thursday – 3.30pm – 6.30pm
Friday – to be agreed
The hourly rate is £11 per hour.
