A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support a young man with general anxiety disorder. Support would include assistance with domestic tasks and providing a reassuring presence when his family are not at home.
Due to his general anxiety disorder it would be beneficial if applicants had demonstrable knowledge of supporting people with similar conditions. Maturity, patience, persistence and the ability to demonstrate creative problem solving skills is a must.
Up to 28 hours per week is available and could potentially be split between two PAs. Please ensure you indicate your availability and preferred number of hours when applying. Applications from undergraduate students looking for up to 15 hours per week will be considered.
Due to the nature of the support required, flexibility is important as it may take time for a relationship, and trust, to be built with the young man. You will be supported by his father to develop this.
Working patterns can be discussed at interview.
Support is to allow the young man the ability to live more independently and to give his family a break from care.
The rate of pay is £9.77 per hour. There is paid leave and a pension scheme is available.
