About me
I am a young, creative and crafty 62-year-old woman looking for a female personal assistant to support me in regaining and rebuilding my independence and confidence. I am looking for a personal assistant who can support and motivate me to reengage with the things that I love, helping me to get out in the community and engage in social activities.
I have lived with mental health challenges for a lot of my life and I am determined to engage in new opportunities, learn new things and make positive changes that will benefit my mental health and recovery. I would like to get back to doing things I enjoy such as gardening, learning new things, seeing family and re-establishing interests such as reading and music.
The post
I would benefit from support with tasks such as meal planning, shopping and meal preparation, attending appointments and sorting through belongings of mine which I no longer need. I am looking for support to motivate me to perform these tasks and companionship to help me achieve what I want in life. I live in the Holyrood area of Edinburgh where there are lots of opportunities and amenities near-by.
I am looking for 9 hours per week, across 3 visits shifts are negotiable and flexible. The rate of pay is £11.29 per hour.
Personal qualities
I am looking for someone who is motivational, enthusiastic, creative, honest and empathetic. I would welcome someone who has some understanding of mental health conditions such as OCD, who can support me with my recovery in a holistic way.
The post will be offered based on the completion of paid trial shift(s), this will be confirmed at interview.
