A personal assistant is required to assist a young girl with Cerebral Palsy, who has recently left school, to support her with social activities and outings.
Social activities and outings will include but are not limited to-
- Going to the cinema
- Going to the library
- Going shopping
- Going for walks in her wheelchair
Outings will mainly be taken either by taxi or bus using the young ladies bus pass +1 card or taxi card.
There will also be an element of personal care with this post including PEG feeding and changing. Full training will be provided by the family for this.
Although the job will mainly be out of the family home, occasionally you may be required to support the young lady in the house and therefore you must be respectful of the family’s privacy and cultural practices at all times.
Hours and rate of pay
The post is for 4 hours per week.
Shifts are Wednesday & Thursday 6pm-8pm
The rate of pay will be £11.49 per hour.
Flexibility will be required.
Applicants would ideally have some experience of working with children with Cerebral Palsy. They will also have good personal hygiene and be reliable, trustworthy, punctual and have a good sense of humour with similar interests to the post.
The post is subject to PVG scheme checks and if you are not a PVG scheme member, you will be asked to join before any formal offer could be made.
