Personal Assistants are required to assist a male disabled person with all aspects of personal care, very simple physiotherapy and other tasks. The employer is a retired professional and writer. He lives with his wife.
Training will be given.
The ability to drive an automatic car would be an advantage.
Hours: 19hrs per week available which could be shared between two PA’s. The hourly rate of pay is £9.77 per with generous holiday pay plus joining employer’s pension scheme. There are also six public holidays at double pay if you are working on those days.
PA’s may be asked, but not obliged, to cover sickness and holidays. PA’s will be will be joining and assisting my existing PA usually when two are required.
The shifts mentioned below are designed for a Personal Assistant who is willing to work every second weekend and every Thursday (detailed below). PA’s may be asked, but not obliged, to cover sickness and holidays.
Shift mornings: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 8am to 9am,
Thursdays – 8am to 1pm, Saturdays – negotiable, Sunday – 8am to 10am
Evenings: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday – 6.30pm to 7.30pm
A timetable format will be attached to the job description.
There may be the possibility of extra hours after the immediate crisis caused by COVID-19.
Only experience required is common sense and someone who feels comfortable working with disabled people, and of course a sense of humour is essential.
