We are looking for a personal assistant (PA) to provide companionship and support to a young man, Chris, 31 years old, who has a mild learning disability.

We are looking for someone who will support him with light domestic and social tasks and his current interests which include:

Video games, walking (with dog), quad biking, shopping, eating out and cinema.

The client’s dog (Sophie) is an active member of Therapets and together Chris and Sophie visit schools and care homes to provide a much needed service.

The applicant must be a driver with clean license and own vehicle.

Hours:  10-20 hours per week and the hourly rate of pay is £12.70 per hour, occasional holiday cover may also be required.

Shifts: (Flexible times)

Essential criteria: Must be reliable & trustworthy, conscientious, patient, friendly and easy-going, empathic, punctual, good communication skills and sense of humour, non-judgemental, flexible and energetic.

Note: The post is subject to successful PVG Scheme check and if you are not a member you will be asked to join before formal offer could be made. This will, of course, be paid for by the employer.
