Are you a caring, compassionate, patient and a flexible person looking for a meaningful part-time job?
If so, please consider a part-time Personal Assistant position for a man diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s. The support will mainly require getting him out and about, taking part in activities in the community and going out on regular walks in the local area to help him maintain a healthy lifestyle.
He was born in Poland and although is bilingual would prefer someone who speaks Polish, as he now finds that easier to communicate in. Familiarity with English would be preferable, but it is not essential.
Good communication skills, patience, compassion, flexibility, understanding, and cooperation are essential as even though he is easy going, he now struggles to communicate effectively. Experience with Alzheimer’s would be preferable, but someone with the above skills, a warm demeanor along with a sense of humour and the right energy would be a good fit too.
You would mainly be accompanying him on walks, supporting indoor activities, preparing light meals/snacks and providing support with some personal care.
Rate of pay is £11.49 per hour.
The post is for 7.5 hours per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1.30 to 4.00pm but with room for flexibility, as well as a potential for 4 more hours per week on an ad hoc basis.
Post subject to references and successful completion of probationary period. PVG scheme membership will be required.
