On Friday 12th June (2.00-4.00 pm), GCIL is hosting a talk by colleagues from the Independent Living Movement in Iceland. Embla Guðrúnar Ágústsdóttir and Freyja Haraldsdóttir will speak about their experiences and challenges in developing Iceland’s first CIL and how their feminist perspective then led them to form Tabú – an informal space for disabled women activists to share their stories.
This informal event will offer an international perspective on the struggles faced by the Independent Living Movement in Iceland and how these compare with our own. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and take part in an open and frank discussion about the issues covered.
