This new innovative service provides information and advice to support adults living in Edinburgh with the neurological progressive conditions Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron Disease, Huntington’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
The Gateway service is a partnership service between voluntary sector service Grapevine and City of Edinburgh Council. It has been developed as a result of consultation with service users who said the most important thing is face to face contact, with information that is up to date and accurate.
Learn on the day what Gateway can do for you, including:
- Provide Information about benefits and funding.
- Help in finding out about ways to stay well.
- Advice on things like getting out and about.
- Getting help at work.
- Planning for the future.
- Connecting with services and groups.
- Learning new skills and taking up leisure opportunities.
Anyone is welcome to come along and pop in for a chat with those involved in the service, in particular people directly affected by these conditions, their carers/family members and workers involved in supporting them.
