The West Lothian Independent Living Service is based at the Ability Centre on Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston.
You are welcome to contact the Independent Living Officer (ILO) for general information about Direct Payments. To access LCiL West Lothian’s Direct Payment service, you will need to be referred by a social worker.
LCiL West Lothian’s Direct Payment service can support you to:
- advertise for a Personal Assistant (PA)
- write a job description
- interview job applicants
- prepare Terms and Conditions of employment
- register with LCIL’s payroll service
- contract with a care agency
LCiL also provides training courses about Direct Payments and independent living in West Lothian. These usually take place at the Ability Centre.
You can get in touch with the Independent Living Officers for ongoing support to manage your Direct Payments.
