ILA funded Training for Personal Assistants (PAs)

For the second time at LCiL! 21st & 22nd November 2011!!!

LCiL is offering an exciting new training opportunity, in partnership with MiTech (the accredited centre for ILAs) for existing and potential Personal Assistants. Those who are eligible for ILA’s can use it to pay for this course. Just contact LCiL with your Individual Learning Number and we will do the rest of the registration process!

Training - 2 Day Training for Personal Assistants

For people who wish to become or already are a Personal Assistant, wanting to further their employability skills, employment opportunities and knowledge in the field of supporting Independent Living for disabled people.

Programme:

Over the two days there will be three main areas covered within the Personal Assistance training: attitude towards equality and non-discrimination of disabled people in the form of Disability Equality Training in Day one which covers attitudes will always run first to ensure that participants are able to gain an understanding of disability as an equality issue; knowledge of what is required of a Personal Assistant within the job and the skills that enables the relationship boundaries between employer/employee run smoothly and efficiently in day 2.

Both sessions will be delivered by disabled trainers, the trainer on day 2 is an experienced disabled PA employer.  There will be printed hand-outs for each participant.  At the end of the second day, there will be a Certificate of Attendance awarded.

 

 The course venue will be the Norton Park Centre in Edinburgh.
