Support for Independent Living Service
Are you a disabled person living in the Lothians and want to:
- Control your own support?
- Decide who works for you?
- Decide when you receive support?
LCiL's Independent Living Team can provide you with the information and advice you need to arrange and manage you own support package.
This includes support to:
- Identify and express your needs
- Identify funding for your package (e.g. Direct Payments and Independent Living Fund)
- Recruit Personal Assistants (PAs)
- Manage your staff
- Contract with a care agency
The Independent Living Team also offers:
- One-to-one advice on Self Directed Support
- Support and advice re self-assessment
- Support to liaise with Local Authority Departments and other appropriate organisations
Support from the Independent Living Team can be arranged as a home visit or at another appropriate or accessible venue.
