Free Training for Personal Assistants
LCiL offers a FREE two-day taster course for people who would like to know more about working as a Personal Assistant (PA) for a Disabled person.
On Day 1 you’ll participate in Disability Equality Training (DET) which is designed to raise your awareness of the barriers which Disabled people face in everyday life, and give you an opportunity to explore and discuss Disability issues.
On Day 2 you’ll get information about the Role and Responsibilities of a PA from a Disabled employer and their PA. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
A certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of Day 2. Attending this course will provide you with valuable information to help you find PA work, and may be an advantage when applying to individual PA employers.
This course is open to anyone, whether currently in employment or not and because the course lasts for fewer than 16 hours, any benefits received will not be affected if you attend.
All places have now been allocated for the July course in East Lothian.
If you would like to be notified of any further training dates in 2009, please contact Caroline Mathison, LCiL's Training Officer see Training Service contact page
