The aim of the job is to provide assistance required by the employer, a disabled man who lives in Musselburgh.
A Personal Assistant is employed to help me live my life the way I choose. Getting the right assistance when I need it allows me to lead my life independently. A Personal Assistant will enable me to do this by listening to what I want and following my instructions. It is therefore vital that an employee has good communication and listening skills.
The job involves assisting me with a variety of tasks. Like most people, my day varies so it is difficult to list every task that is expected of a Personal Assistant.
After a period of familiarisation with the duties, you will be required to assist me with the following tasks, sometimes without close supervision. The post holder will therefore need to be able to work on their own initiative whilst at the same time be respectful of my wishes.
The job involves moving and assisting and experience of this is desirable. You do not have to be strong to do the job well but general good health is important.
The job involves assisting me with personal care tasks, domestic tasks, helping me with my pets and social tasks.
The Post
The rate of pay is £7.80 per hour.

A flexible family helper is needed for a friendly North Berwick family.
An energetic, confident person is required to spend some quality time with a 5 year old boy or his 1 year old sister. Charlie has cerebral palsy and uses a walking frame and wheel chair. Both the children are outgoing and have no behavioural problems.
Duties are varied and flexible according to the needs of the family and candidate. No formal qualifications are needed but a sense of humour is essential and they must be a non smoker. A driver is preferred, but not essential.
Must be over 16 and it is essential that the postholder is a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or is willing to join.
General good health and physical fitness is important.
The job requires assistance with personal and social care tasks.
The post is for four hours per week and the rate of pay will be £7.80 per hour. Occasional overtime may be available.

The job is to assist the employer, a 28 year old disabled man living in the family home in Cockenzie, East Lothian, to live, as far as possible, an independent life.
I employ Care Assistants to help me live my life the way I choose. Getting the right assistance when I need it allows me to lead my life independently. A Care Assistant will enable me to do this by listening to what I want and following my instructions. Once they have come to know me and my tastes and interests, they will be expected to use their initiative, encouraging me to be active and creative. It is therefore vital that they have good communication and listening skills.
An Assistant should be able to handle tasks involving lifting. You do not have to be strong to do the job well, but good, general health is important.
The job involves assistance with a variety of tasks. Like most people, my day varies so it is difficult to list every task that is expected of an Assistant. A male care assistant is required because I need support with personal care tasks.
It is essential that the postholder be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or be willing to join.
The job requires the Care Assistant to help with personal care tasks, social care tasks, domestic tasks and some administration tasks.
It is preferable that the postholder have a full driving license and some computer skills.
The part time job will be approximately 15 hours at the weekend over two shifts. The shifts may be daytime or evening. The rate of pay is £8.50 an hour.
