Access to Work

Access to Work is a specialist disability service from Job Centre Plus that gives practical advice and support to disabled people, whether they are working, self-employed or looking for employment. Two new factsheets for customers and employers on Access to Work. There are also a selection of British Sign Language videos (BSL) explaining Access to Work – see more information below:
This factsheet explains how Access to Work can provide practical and financial support to help you overcome barriers to starting or keeping a job, it explains:
• who can get help from Access to Work
• what you’ll get
• how to claim
• how to ask for your award to be looked at again and how to complain

Access to Work is provided where someone needs support or adaptations beyond the reasonable adjustments which an employer is legally obliged to provide under the Equality Act.
